MOZART DAY

Friday 27th January 2006 was the 250th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birth.
We celebrated Mozart's birthday with a special day, full of music.
We had a special assembly where we learned lots about Mozart and we were very impressed that he started composing at the age of 5.
We took part in lots of different activities throughout the day.
We listened to different pieces of Mozart's music and thought about how they made us feel. We talked about this and did some artwork to show how we felt.
We composed music in small groups; sometimes we used similar instruments to each other and one activity involved us using lots of different instruments to create a symphony.
We listened to 'The Queen of the Night's aria' from 'The Magic Flute' and devised angry dances in response to the music.
