Drug awareness
Years 5 and 6 were visited by PC Tim Smith and Carol Dawson (CAN).
On Monday 2nd April PC Smith and Carol Dawson came in to teach us about drugs. We talked about all different types of drugs and wrote them in different columns: stimulants, depressants, hallucinogenic and painkillers. Leter, we talked about the punishments and penalties you receive if you were caught taking drugs or dealing them. We also learnt a different list of drugs: illegal, legal and age-restricted. Towards the end of the afternoon, we learnt the street names of different drugs and saw some drugs in a case. We were given empty drug containers and had to answer questions about them: What is it called? What is one of the ingredients? Who is it for? Does it have an age restriction?
