Book Reviews and Author Profiles
I joined the Book Club and got to choose a brand new book which no-one else had read before. I have been wanting to read 'Artemis Fowl' by Eoin Colfer for a long time. I am really enjoying reading the book because it's about fairies and fbi s. I get really interested in the book when I'm reading about fowls, who have to be paired for life and make sure their partner does not die.
I like the front cover of the book because it's like the little gold fairy book that is mentioned in the story. It's set out like a diary and it's all glittery!
The book is for ages 11 - 13 and it's got quite complicated words in it, but it is an excellent and fantastic book.

'The worlds of Chrestomanci' by Dianna Wynne Jones.
I chose this book becasue it has an interesting plot. It's really cool! So far, Cat and Gwendolyn have had to go and live in a big, posh house because their parents have died in a ship accident. It's brill! I give it 9 out of 10.

'The Wind in the Willows' by Kenneth Grahame.
'The wind in the willows' is one of my my favourite books and my favourite character is Badger. I like it when Mole gets lost in the wild wood. There are lots of animals in the book and I find it very exciting. It's like I'm in the story. When I read the book I find it very funny. This book gets a BIG 9 out of 10!

'The magical world of Harry Potter'.
This book is great if you've read Harry Potter and wondered how JK Rowling thought it all up. There is lots of information about spells, Latin and names. However, it does get a bit repetitive after a while. On the whole, I thought this was a really good book though.

'The kite rider'
I think 'The kite rider' is very hard and I think it would be easier for someone who knew Chinese names to read. But, to be fair, it does say that it is for readers of 10 and up. I think that what would make it a really good book, is if it was suitable for younger children. I would give the book about 6 out of 10.
