New Year 2008 - Welcome Back Letter

Dear Parent/Carer
A very Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas holiday.
Here are some dates and details of events happening during this half term:
Clubs:
Tuesdays 3.30pm 4.30pm
The school football club, run by Mr Kevin Morris and Mrs Lindsay Morris will start again on Tuesday 29th January.
Wednesdays
Recorder Club will be run by Mrs Vicki Masters and Mrs B Lomas, which will be held at lunchtime starting on Wednesday 16th January
Hot Shots Basketball will continue on Wednesdays from 3.30pm 4.15pm starting today.
Thursdays
Lunchtime chess club, run by Mrs Vicki Masters will continue to take place on Thursdays, commencing 17th January.
Fridays
Freestyle Football will continue on Friday lunchtime, starting Friday 11th January. Attached is a flyer from the club for anyone who may be interested in joining.
The organisers are keen to boost numbers, in order to keep this club viable. It is open to all age groups, from Reception to Year 6, both girls and boys.
New Clubs for this term will be:
Painting:
This will take place on Mondays from 3.30pm 4.30pm, commencing 14th January. 15 places are available.
Cross Stitch
This will take place during Friday lunchtimes and will commence on 18th January.
There will be a charge of £2.50 per session, for these clubs, to cover the costs of materials.
The clubs will run for 10 weeks, making a total cost of £25.00 per child. Children will need to make a commitment to attend all sessions.
If your child/children are interested, please complete the slip below and return to school ASAP.
The first completed slips including payment of £25.00 will secure a place on a first come first serve basis.
Activities
Tuesday 15th January
All children will take part in dance taster sessions, run by a firm called Dancing Dreams. We hope to be able to interest enough children in order to run a dance club in the near future.
Tuesday 22nd January - Indian Culture Day
All classes will be involved in a variety of activities about Indian culture during the morning.
Monday 28th January
A group of Year 5 and 6 pupils will participate in athletics training at Campion, alongside children from the Cluster Primary Schools. Mrs Masters will send out more details to the chosen group at a later date.
Friends of Brington
Mrs Elizabeth Leatherland (our in house Salsa expert), is running a series of classes for adults in the function room at the Saracens Head pub in Little Brington.
Please come along and join in the fun! All money raised is for the school. (Please see attached flier for details of times and price etc)
