Key Stage Results
BL/SM/KSResults Friday 19th October 2007
Dear Parent/Carer
The SAT?s results for 2007 have now been validated.
Key Stage 1
Historically the school attainment has been above average in Key Stage 1 in all core subjects, although cohort related dips in attainment, have occurred.
2007 results are very good, showing a significant improvement from 2006. 100% level 2A and above in reading, writing and maths and 100% level 2 and above in sciences.
Key Stage 2
Between 2002 and 2006, standards in English were above or in-line with national averages. Results in English for 2007 suggest that this has been maintained, 75% level 4 and above, with 50% gaining level 5.
This was achieved with a cohort of 8 of whom 2 had previously had IEP?s in place for English, and 1 child a statement for moderate learning difficulties.
Over the same period, Science results were also above or in-line with national averages. Results for 2007 are very good, with 100% achieving level 4 and above (including the child with the statement), with 50% gaining level 5.
Maths standards have fluctuated over the same period and there is a downward trend, which we are addressing. 2007 results sow a mixed picture. 38% achieved level 5 and in doing so achieved very high marks (90 and above). On the other hand, 50% only achieved level 3.
Although Fisher family trust statistics predicted that 2 of the 4 children that this % represents should have got level 4, they failed to do so. Thus maths stands out as a key area for continued improvement.
Please find attached, our school results with the national results, as a comparative, which I hope you will find useful.
